Church School begins at preschool and continues through pre-high school, with our high school students leading as mentors. This is a dynamic, engaging and interactive program. Our curriculum is designed to educate students on the Bible; how to navigate, understand and investigate! Students will learn that it is much more than a "story." The goal is to take scripture and discover how to apply it to our world, our lives, and our daily choices.
Mark 1:16-20 The Message
Passing along the beach of Lake Galilee, Jesus saw Simon and his brother Andrew net-fishing. Fishing was their regular work. Jesus said to them, “Come with me. I’ll make a new kind of fisherman out of you. I’ll show you how to catch men and women instead of perch and bass.”
They didn’t ask questions. They dropped their nets and followed.
What did it mean for those men and the other disciples to “FOLLOW” what did they have to do? Drop everything; leave behind everyone and all that that knew! Could you, would you do it? A lot of people think, “NO. I COULD NEVER DO THAT”. It’s not that they don’t want to. It’s not that they don’t feel the pull on their hearts to go. It’s that they are AFRAID. It’s scary to DROP EVERYTHING! To leave everything and everyone you know behind. To leave the comfort of knowing what’s going to happen each day. It might not be great but at least you know what to expect!
We will be building a wooden sail (and row) boat this year!
The project will begin in JANUARY. We will be looking for at least 2 adult volunteer mentors with basic carpentry skills… and an above average amount of love and patience for kids, to help mentor this project!
(Anyone interested please see Wendy or email her at email@example.com )
The High School kids meet before Service in the Breakfast Club to discuss topics with impact on their age group. Many of them also help in delivering the Grade School lessons. For more information on our High School programs click here.
Our 4th annual Back-to-School Supplies Drive for local students in-need launched our missions for the year! We will once again have our Great Pie Challenge for Thanksgiving and our Christmas Pageant. Making 200 pies from scratch to benefit the homeless, veterans and elderly in our community at Thanksgiving and collecting donations at the pageant as a gift to support Heartline Ministries in Haiti. We will also be volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, Hands Across the Sea, Souper Bowl of Caring, Wounded Warriors Project, and Do something.Org; just to name a few of the ways we will be reaching out and living our faith!
