Prayer

Whether you pray alone, in the midst of a community, or not at all,

we believe that God hears our hearts in all things.

So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:24

PRAYING TOGETHER

Each week, we share our joys and our worries together during the worship service. Whether we speak our prayers out loud or hold them in our hearts, together we pray for each other and the world around us.

Our small groups also provide an opportunity to establish deeper relationships and offer more personal prayer support.

PREPARING YOURSELF FOR PRAYER

Empty your hands. Close your eyes. Breathe deeply and slowly. Clear your mind. Let sounds pass by you.

  1. Who is with you in your heart today? See that person in your mind's eye. Ask God to show you the role you may play in this person's life.
  2. Are you counting your blessings today? For what - or whom - are you feeling thankful today?
  3. Are you feeling anxious? What is it you are anxious about? Know that God cares about you and all of the people you hold in your heart.
  4. Do you need to lay down a burden today?  This is the hardest prayer of all, for some. While letting go completely might seem difficult, simply show your burden to God and ask for help.

Remember that Christ invites us to "come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
